The Singapore Mentorship Committee (SMC) was honoured to participate as a supporting partner at the SICC 185th Annual General Meeting Luncheon, held on 30 June 2026, joining more than 200 business leaders, policymakers and representatives from over 30 diplomatic missions for an important dialogue on Singapore’s future.

SMC extends its warmest congratulations to SICC on the successful organisation of this landmark event and thanks the Chamber for its continued partnership in bringing together leaders from business, government and the international community.

A highlight of the luncheon was an engaging fireside dialogue featuring Mr Chan Chun Sing, Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Minister for Defence, moderated by Professor Phoon Kok Kwang, President of Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). The discussion explored Singapore’s future through the lenses of resilience, renewal and collective responsibility, while addressing the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence, geopolitical shifts and the evolving global economy.

The themes discussed closely align with SMC’s mission. As Singapore approaches SG100, developing globally ready talent requires more than education alone. It calls for strong partnerships across business, government, academia and the community to nurture leaders with the character, adaptability and global perspective needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.

For many years, SICC has been a valued partner of SMC, providing a trusted platform where leaders from diverse sectors exchange ideas, strengthen collaborations and contribute to shaping Singapore’s future. SMC greatly values this longstanding relationship and looks forward to expanding its impact together.

Operating as a 100% volunteer-led non-profit organisation, SMC is building an intergenerational talent ecosystem that connects experienced leaders with emerging talent through mentorship, leadership development and international collaboration. Today, the community brings together more than 5,000 members across 35 countries, united by the belief that investing in people is the foundation of a stronger Singapore and a stronger ASEAN.

Strong partnerships create stronger communities, and stronger communities develop the leaders who will shape tomorrow. Together, SMC and SICC remain committed to building a more resilient, connected and globally ready Singapore.
