Walking the Journey Together:
Launch of Mentor Service Milestone Certificate for SMC Youth Hiking Library
We are proud to introduce the SMC Mentor Service Milestone Certificate, a milestone framework that recognises mentorship as a form of leadership—honouring mentors who have shown sustained commitment to developing future-ready youth through the SMC Youth Hiking Library.
The SMC Youth Hiking Library is one of SMC’s signature experiential mentorship initiatives. Through guided hikes, it brings mentors and young people together in an environment where conversations unfold naturally, values are exchanged openly, and learning takes place beyond classrooms and formal settings. Each hike represents a living chapter in the Library—where real stories, life choices, and leadership lessons are shared by walking side by side.

Mentorship is not a one-off act; it is a practice grounded in consistency, presence, and long-term impact. Meaningful mentorship is built over time—through trust, repeated engagement, and the commitment to show up again and again.
The Mentor Service Milestone Certificate is our way of honouring mentors who have walked alongside our youth—step by step, hike by hike—offering their time, wisdom, and care to help shape confident, grounded, and future-ready young leaders.
SMC Founder Dr David said:
“Preparing globally ready youth requires mentorship that is sustained, diverse, and grounded in real-world experience. Through the Youth Hiking Library, SMC is privileged to work with a community of mentors representing more than 35 cultures and diverse professional backgrounds, affirming that meaningful learning and leadership development are cultivated through continuity, shared experience, and reflective engagement. This milestone recognition formally acknowledges mentors whose long-term commitment has created lasting impact on future-ready young leaders.”
